Welcome to the S.E.E.D Ministry
The S.E.E.D Ministry empowers Christian caregivers of “tween” children with the tools and support they need to grow in their faith-based care giving journey. Through Spiritual, Emotional, Environmental, and Deeds-based (Actions/Events) resources, we provide a strong foundation for caregivers to nurture and guide the next generation with confidence and grace.

Our Mission:
Under the visionary leadership of Rev. Dr. Kevin D. Miller, St. Matthew’s Community A.M.E. Church launched the S.E.E.D Ministry—Spiritual, Emotional, Environmental, and Deeds-based (Actions/Events) resources for the Christian caregivers navigating the unique challenges of raising youth in the critical “tween” years. Recognizing the spiritual, emotional, and practical demands faced by those guiding children through this formative stage, the ministry was prayerfully birthed as a safe and intentional space for encouragement, growth, and community. With strategic support from Ministry Architects and generous funding through the Lilly Endowment Grant, the S.E.E.D Ministry has become a vital arm of St. Matthew’s mission to nurture families and strengthen generational faith.
A Curated Resource : The S.E.E.D Ministry will provide resources that are . . .
. . . Faith Based and Focused
The S.E.E.D Ministry Toolbox is thoughtfully curated with a strong faith foundation, designed to equip Christian caregivers with practical, Spirit-led tools for raising tweens. Rooted in biblical principles and shaped by the realities of modern parenting, the toolbox offers resources that nurture both the spiritual and emotional development of caregivers and their children. From scripture-based parenting guides and devotional materials to prayer prompts and Christ-centered conversation starters, every element of the toolbox is intentionally curated to help caregivers lead with wisdom, love, and faith. This resource aims to serves as a reminder that caregivers are not alone—they are supported, empowered, and guided by God’s Word and the body of Christ.
John 15:5 (NIV):
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
. . . Rooted in and Growing In Christ
The resources offered by the S.E.E.D Ministry are both vast and ever-evolving, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to meeting the real and changing needs of Christian caregivers raising tweens. From spiritual development tools and parenting guides to workshops, support groups, and digital content, S.E.E.D provides a wide array of faith-based support. As the ministry listens to the voices of caregivers and responds to cultural shifts, the resource offerings continue to grow—ensuring families are equipped with relevant, impactful tools to nurture the next generation in Christ. Whether you're just beginning the journey or deep in the trenches, there's always something new and meaningful in the S.E.E.D toolbox.
2 Peter 3:18 (NIV):
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
. . . Intended for Harvest
To ensure continued relevance and support, the S.E.E.D Ministry expands its resources quarterly, introducing new focus topics that speak directly to the evolving needs of Christian caregivers and their tweens. Each quarter brings fresh, faith-based content—such as workshops, devotionals, guides, and conversation tools—centered around themes like identity in Christ, emotional wellness, digital discipleship, and navigating peer pressure. This intentional rhythm of renewal allows caregivers to stay spiritually equipped and practically prepared, fostering deeper connection and growth within their families throughout the year. The ultimate goal is not just exposure to these resources, but true GROWTH—spiritually, emotionally, and relationally—as caregivers apply what they’ve learned and allow God to shape their journey.
Galatians 6:9 (NIV):
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Caregiver Wellness: Combating Burnout Through Christ-Centered
Self-Care & Sabbath
Parental burnout is real—and it often goes unspoken. The S.E.E.D Ministry recognizes that caregivers cannot pour from an empty cup. That’s why we’ve developed a faith-based, three-day challenge as a gentle and powerful first step toward spiritual renewal and restoration. Rooted in biblical truth and practical encouragement, this challenge invites caregivers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with God in the midst of their daily responsibilities.
Designed as an introduction to S.E.E.D’s vast catalogue of faith-centered resources, this experience focuses on helping caregivers discover the sacred rhythm of “finding Sabbath”—moments of rest, reflection, and refreshment even in the busyness of raising tweens. Each day offers simple, impactful tools to quiet the noise, renew the spirit, and shift the heart toward grace-filled caregiving.
The intention is not only to use the resources provided in the challenge, but to awaken a fresh appetite for deeper growth. As caregivers engage with this mini-journey, they’ll be encouraged to explore the broader library of S.E.E.D offerings—equipping them with new skills, renewed energy, and Christ-centered wisdom to sustain the caregiving journey with joy and purpose.
